I have been seeing Dr. Marlin for more than 30 years, and couldn't be more happy with the work he has done for me. He has handled a range of issues, including what was at the time cutting-edge implant work, and always with great care, skill, and attention to detail. I recommend him without hesitation.
I was born with bad teeth. Not misshapen or misaligned, but weak. When I had my wisdom teeth removed in my early 20s, what I was told might be a 30 to 45 minute procedure was over in 10 minutes. As the dentist tried to extract them, the teeth simply broke into pieces and came out quite easily. At some point in my 20s, I realized that flossing was actually abrading and wearing down the surface of my teeth at and below the gumline and so I stopped flossing. That meant that receding gums and bone loss were added to the incremental tooth loss as my back teeth decayed and broke. By the time I hit my mid-50s, I had lost most of my back teeth, had two broken and visible front teeth, and badly receding gums. This was the disaster scenario Dr. Gerald Marlin faced when he first met me. With the help of sophisticated imaging, he was able to show and explain to me just how dire my situation was. I was hoping to have the All-on-Four implant full-arch denture treatment for both the upper and lower jaw. Unfortunately, as Dr. Marlin showed me, I didn’t have sufficient bone, especially on the upper jaw, to do the procedure. Undaunted, he came up with a plan to make my desired outcome possible. We would rebuild the bone, and then go from there. I quickly came to realize that the “new teeth in a day” promise made by the mass-marketed All-on-Four providers was, ultimately, a scam. Sure, there might be a very select number of individuals, with no complicating circumstances, who would be candidates for a one-day procedure. But even then, as Dr. Marlin explained to me, the typical move by such operations is to level-off the bone under the gums before sinking the implanted sockets. This means that, if further bone loss were to occur in the ensuing years, the patient would be out of luck, because so much bone would have been sacrificed in the initial “tabling” of the bone. Dr. Marlin convinced me that a much more gradual approach would give me the greatest chance of success. And that’s how it went. I had all my remaining teeth removed, bone grafts done, and was fitted with temporary, traditional, dentures all at the same time. With periodic appointments to check the success of the bone grafts, I waited for everything to be set for the sockets to be implanted. When the bone grafts had taken, I had the sockets implanted and a temporary set of screw-in appliances installed both top and bottom. Time was taken to make sure all the now non-moving parts were working correctly. Finally, the finalized upper and lower appliances were made and installed. Yes, the process took a year and a half. With numerous visits. And yet, thanks to Dr. Marlin’s generous discounts, it proved to cost really no more than the “new teeth in a day,” assembly-line type treatments which, I’m convinced, could NEVER have produced the results I’ve had. I now wake up every morning with a gorgeous smile, and one I don’t have to take out and put in a glass to soak overnight. Dr. Marlin is a true artisan and a true professional. And he has assembled a great group of individuals to help him do what he does. Which for me, was a miracle. I hope you will trust your dental health and aesthetics to this first-class team.
I have been a patient of Dr. Marlin's for over 38 years. I have moved twice in that timeframe and have gone out of my way to see him at least once a year because I trust him and he did an excellent job putting in a full bridge on my upper teeth. The trust extends to his loyal and excellent staff. No one else has ever "measured up" to the "Marlin" treatment.
It has been 30 years at least since I first became a patient of Dr. Gerald Marlin. I had teeth that were severely stained due to treatment with tetracycline when I was a child. I could not use any of the standard whitening tools as they would only highlight the stains on my teeth. Dr. Marlin has been encouraging me to do something about my teeth for a very long time. However, it was only at the beginning of 2018, that I decided to take the plunge and get crowns for 16 of my front teeth. Dr. Marlin is a perfectionist; he works tirelessly to ensure that the result is what both the patient and he himself want. He has a wonderful staff, who are supportive, encouraging, and make you as comfortable as possible. Dr. Marlin’s very well-trained staff and the bar of excellence to which he holds himself and all those who work for him, are evident in the quality of the appearance of my teeth after all the procedures were done. I just can’t stop smiling!
Dr. Marlin was highly recommended by my local dentist 15 years ago, due to my dental condition and ill-fitting crown & bridge. The long overdue process finally gives me the smile and self-confidence that I’ve dreamt about since I was a child. I still receive many complements from family members, and friends for my beautiful crown and cosmetic reconstruction after 14 years. The office stuff are all very friendly and the efficient scheduling process work well for my working hours. Also office is clean and well run, comfortable waiting room, with great magazine selection. The hygienists did a fantastic job with my teeth cleaning annually, very gentle but thorough. I learn more about my oral health and hygiene every time I see her. Really appreciate the excellent care from the office.
I have had extensive dental work done since I was a young child and wanted to find a holistic solution for cosmetic reasons, but more importantly for dental health reasons. I set up consultation appointments with 3 different prosthodentits in order to make an informed decision. Dr. Marlin was the first one I went to. I was so confident in him after the consultation that I selected him and canceled the other 2. I was so right. I had extensive work done, 20 ceramic crowns and 4 root canals. It was a lengthy process, but Dr. Marlin and the entire staff did everything possible to provide me with the best care. Everyone was thorough, punctual, polite, caring and professional. Dr. Marlin is a perfectionist and I truly appreciate his attention to every aspect of the procedures, including my comfort. They were also flexible in accommodating my schedule. we had numerous 8-hour sessions at my request. The lab and the technician that actually produced the temporaries and final crowns is in-house, that is a huge plus. Felix is an artist and as much a perfectionist as Dr. Marlin. Dr. Marlin worked with Felix to get the perfect shape, bite and color. I couldn't be happier with results. I even had a person in a midwest town tell me she knew I wasn't from there because my teeth were so nice. It is a pleasure to smile now. Thank you Dr. Marlin and staff. I give the strongest recommendation I can to the entire practice!!
I have received extensive dental treatment from Dr. Marlin over the last 12+ years. I had to have more than 5 implants and subsequent crowns and bone grafts; the work was performed flawlessly and with sensitivity. The staff were wonderful.
I had implant surgery at Dr. Marlin office. It was beautiful, painless, terrific job done. I had to call my husband to look at the x-ray to see great work done by Dr. Marlin.
I have been seeing Dr. Marlin for over 25 years. He knows his stuff and is extremely reliable. I can always trust him to make a proper diagnosis and his treatment results are above the quality of care.
"Going to the Dentist" is something I rarely look forward to, but in dealing with Dr. Marlin and his office, I would make an exception. They all go out of their way to make their patients comfortable and the experience as positive as it can be. The professionalism exhibited by the staff is exceptional and Dr. Marlin's expertise has led to many positive comments about my "smile." I couldn't imagine a more successful outcome to my treatment.
